“Fa La La La La La La Mesa,”

a Christmas album release party.

On Saturday, December 20, from 3-5 pm, at the Brew Spot on 6101  Lake Murray Drive, in La Mesa, freshly off his trip to the Bakersfield 2025 Annual Country Music Awards (BCMAs), where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr BLT, Southern California’s Ambassador of the Bakersfield Sound, will surprise Dr BLTribers (his fans) with a special holiday gig.

Bruce (the B his initials, Dr BLT), will perform original songs from his forthcoming album, “Fa La La La La La Mesa,” among other songs, from older and other brand new Christmas albums.

The San Diego Reader, (like the late great Buck Owens himself), compared Dr BLT to Johnny Cash, and also to John Prine.  

Given his day job, as a licensed Clinical Psychologist, a Sacramento newspaper called him “Freud Meets Hendrix,” though “Freud meets Cash,” may have been a more apt description.

Dr BLT, who has also been covered by many other artists, has been praised by P!ink , and American Top 40’s Casey Kasem.  

None of this, nor his cameo on Cake’s MTV-video-award-nominated music video for “Short Skirt/Long Jacket,” or the frequent airing of his multi-genre, mostly Americana-styled songs on college and other indie radio stations, has gone to the head of this Canadian-born, Bakersfield Sound-grounded La Mesa resident.
